About Sillustani

Sillustani is an important pre-Inca archaeological site located on a peninsula along the shores of Lake Umayo, near the city of Puno. It is best known for its impressive Chullpas, large circular stone towers built as funerary monuments for ancient nobility. Surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes, Sillustani offers visitors a unique combination of history, architecture, and natural beauty.


Itinerary

  • 2:00 PM – Hotel pick-up service from your accommodation in the city of Puno.
  • Scenic transfer from Puno to the Sillustani archaeological complex, with an approximate travel time of 50 minutes.
  • Arrival at the site and commencement of a guided visit to the impressive Chullpas, ancient circular funerary towers. The tour includes an ascent to a panoramic viewpoint offering outstanding views of Lake Umayo and its surrounding landscapes.
  • Upon completion of the guided tour, guests may optionally visit a traditional Qolla family home near the town of Hatunqolla, providing insight into local culture and daily life.
  • Return journey to the city of Puno, with an estimated arrival time of 6:00 PM.
